The MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK.23 opened with a brilliant opening show and celebrated its 15th anniversary. Spectacular creations by the participating designers confirmed the talent of the local fashion designers and thrilled the audience, which as every year gathered at Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier.
A glorious start and at the same time a sneak peek at the 26 shows of the coming days awaited the invited audience, including celebrities, representatives of the press and greats of the fashion world. The reigning Miss Austria and Mister Austria 2023 also mingled with the crowd.
A few selected creations, the favourite pieces of this year’s designers, were presented. Among them were labels such as Pitour, Callisti and TRUEYOU, which have accompanied the MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK for years. The works of Berlin-based designer Marcel Ostertag could also be admired once again at the 15th MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK. In addition, newcomers and up-and-coming talents from well-known Viennese fashion schools such as Michelbeuern, KunstModeDesign Herbststrasse and Sitam demonstrated their skills. A variety of glamorous, casual and exclusive creations could be seen on the catwalk, which, as always, were carried down the runway by the models with incredible ease. HAIR HAUS succeeded in creating hairstyles that perfectly matched the styles, using products from label.m.
However, original looks could not only be admired on the catwalk, but also off it – from eye-catching street style, casual-elegant chic to stylish designer pieces. Some of the outfits on the Red Carpet were also real eye-catchers. The refreshing drink variations by Mionetto and the delicious coffee by Lavazza kept the mood high throughout the evening.
The exclusive opening event, hosted by Elke Rock, was undoubtedly a success. Director of the MuseumsQuartier Betinna Leidl, City Councillor for Art and Culture Andrea Mayer and City Councillor Nicole Berger-Krotsch also addressed a few words to the audience during an opening speech. With the opening show, the three organisers Elvyra Geyer, Zigi Mueller-Matyas and Maria Oberfrank launched a very special MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK. For the 15th time they will be presenting national and international designers to the Viennese public. “The last 15 years have flown by. When we look back on it, we can hardly believe that it has been so long since the first MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK took place”. They are especially grateful to all the team members and designers who have been, are, remain and perhaps will be a part of this journey.
