The Fashion Academy Sitam stands for creativity, precision and traditional crafts! The pupils therefore learn the art of fashion design on the one hand, but the classic skills of tailoring and the professional production of the garments play an equally important role. Especially with the latter, strictly speaking when designing the cuts, the teaching at Sitam differs from that at other fashion schools. Sitam works according to a modern editing system, which saves time and is suitable for fitting. The basis for this is a stencil, which was developed in 1947 by the Italian tailoring Padovani. Only a year later, the first fashion school was founded in Padua, which teaches this special design technique. Today, the Sitam cut is widely used and viewed worldwide.

In Austria Sabina Cattelan opened the first Sitam Academy in Vienna in 2008. The trained leather merchant and Sitam modelista trained in Padua in Padua fulfilled a dream: With the fashion school, she has the opportunity of their years of accumulated experience and knowledge, ia. through her work with international fashion labels such as Benetton and Krizia, to pass on to young designers. Full of conviction and passion, she founded the academy 15 years ago. Today, she is delighted with the same euphoria over the annual growth of students, which she trains with the support of other instructors. Sitam is an adult education institute – i. it addresses young adults, mothers as well as professionals, whether for training or further education – the love of fashion and sewing is all that matters!
