Sim I-San: Mural Northeast Buddhist Holy Temple The contents of murals at Sim-Esan (Buddhist monastery) were expression of a variety of beliefs in the past. Inasmuch as artists demonstrated not only Buddhist (Theravada) morality and beliefs but also beliefs of Brahmana-hinduism that introduced to Esan and Lanchang when the same period as Buddhism. Both Buddhism and Brahmana-hinduism had reached Esan and Lanchang in difference time. Moreover, the contents of murals at Sim-Esan were presentation of Esan life styles and local tradition. The ultimate goals of presentation of murals at Sim-Esan were to preserving the diversity of beliefs and development a culture of peace, tolerance and cultural respect from a difference of philosophical opinions.  Conveying the local way of life through the art of faith with the technique of painting natural colors in the form Mural Northeast Buddhist Holy Temple.
