The label’s ethical vocation combats the effects of fast fashion by producing high-quality clothes made in a sustainable and equitable way – in close cooperation with their small scale manufactory in Kiev, resource efficiency using the local network and by including sustainable fabrics.
The Austrian born fashion designer Jana Wieland established the brand Jana Wieland in 2016, specializing in fresh and effortless clothing.
2018 the Designer won the highest remunerated Fashion Award of the City Vienna (Modepreis der Stadt Wien).
As fundamental part of the Austrian Fashion Scene Jana Wieland’s work is showcased in the respective MAK exhibition in 2020.
Jana Wieland creates a contemporary and transcending wardrobe, singularized by its clarity of lines and quality make. The pattern making results in bold and light silhouettes gently enveloping the body in elegance and buoyancy.
Oversized looks and a fancy pyjama reference are recurring outlines of Jana Wieland’s collections.
Every collection constitutes a cultural endeavour that digs into the designer’s subconscious, filtering out her current emotional state of aesthetics.
The deliberate pattern making, that flatters many diverse body types, is constantly evolved and adapted to the direct feedback of the customers. The collections can be worn and combined all year every year, offering an easy wardrobe for highly diverse occasions.
“If a two-dimensional pattern finally comes to life on a body – thats the moment I work and live for. And almost everyone slipping into one of my designs is stunned by how flattering the garments become on a body, considering how sculptural and unassuming they can look on a rack. “
The intimate touch of the designer’s work, who alone sets hand to the entire process from pattern to prototype, is as well mirrored in the campaigns, in which Jana Wieland herself appears in autobiographical naturalness.
